Center for Old Music

Musick's Company

Musick's Company is the resident performing ensemble of the Center for Old Music in the New World. The composition of the ensemble has varied over the years, but has always had at its core a dedicated group of singers and instrumentalists, with the occasional addition of special guest artists, all until recently under the direction of the late Donna Boyd. Our music director is now Joanna Manring, with Ted Gentry directing the instruments.

Join Us!

Musick's Company is always interested in auditioning new members. If you are a singer or instrumentalist with experience in performing early music, we'd love to hear from you.

General Details (subject to change):

  • We normally rehearse on Monday evenings from 7:15-8:45pm, occasionally adding an extra dress rehearsal near performance dates.
  • The Christmas concert is normally the Monday prior to Christmas. We also have a spring concert that is usually scheduled on a Friday evening sometime from mid-May to early June.
  • Performers are not normally paid (nor are there membership fees).
  • There are rare opportunities for the group or some subset to perform outside the normal concert dates, either to promote our concerts, or for hire for some event. We do not actively solicit performances outside our normal calendar, but we do entertain proposals that come to us. If hired for pay, the fees are normally split among the participating performers.

Please use our Contact page to tell us a bit about yourself or to ask questions. One of our directors will be in touch with you.
