Center for Old Music

Cœur désolé

We were profoundly saddened to report the passing of Donna Boyd, founder and music director of the Center for Old Music, and our dear friend, on 14 March 2012. Donna was universally loved and admired by all who worked with her, by her many students, and by her many many good friends. What Donna created was not just a musical community, but also a family united in the celebration of all things beautiful. This is a serious blow to this very close-knit community of musicians and admirers, but we have pledged to carry on.

Memorial donations in her Donna's honor may be made to:

Syng & Playe the Marvells of Maye:
in Memory of Donna Boyd

The spring 2012 program by Musick's Company featured bittersweet sounds, both sacred and secular, vocal and instrumental, solemn and celebratory.

All our friends who knew and appreciated all that Donna has done for these ensembles, for early music, and for the cultural life of us all, came to celebrate her legacy.
